Mission Statement

The goal of the Roosevelt Middle School Counseling Department is to provide a comprehensive school counseling program that will meet the academic, social/emotional, and college/career exploration needs of our students.  Through collaborative efforts of students, staff, parents, and the community we will meet the diversity of each student’s needs by developing and fostering relationships built on mutual respect and care.  We will work to create a safe, challenging, and supportive environment that will encourage all students to take risks in the learning process.  As counselors, we will advocate for all students to acquire and apply the skills and knowledge needed to become lifelong learners.

Philosophy

All students can learn, grow, and achieve. Every student has access to the services of a school counselor. In addition, effective school counseling is a collaborative process that involves school counselors, students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community leaders to assist students in reaching their full potential.

Roosevelt Middle School counselors abide by the professional school counseling ethics as advocated by the American School Counselor Association.
